Starburst K – for Kontakt
This collection is released for either Kontakt/SFZ/WAV, Padshop Pro or Sampletank, a hand crafted selection of pads created on the Virus TI Synthesizer. The TI is a superb synthesizer for creating organic sounding Pads and this collection is an opportunity to replicate this sound inside your sampler. Each instrument is made up of at least 5 multi-samples ensuring smooth transitions across the instrument. Whilst this is primarily a pads collection the instruments are mostly designed to be melodic so that they are useful across the board wherever lush synths are required. For Kontakt and Sampletank, there are many child presets which make good use of the supported sample engines.
UPDATE: Starburst for Kontakt now includes the Kosmos Synth front end, an easy to use Synth Engine utilizing the WAVs which has a configurable randomizer for creating new sounds quickly and easily. See the Kosmos tab for details. Go to the Kosmos Manual which is also included with Kosmos products as a PDF.
Kontakt .nki Presets:
- 110 Parent Instruments using at least 5 multi-samples
- 4 Child patches for each instrument providing variations using the Kontakt engine
- ALT – An alternate version often using the sample start to add a different slant.
- LFO – An LFO->Filter Modulated version.
- Slow – Uses a slow attack on the filter Envelope for a more Ambient Pad.
- Stab – Uses a sharp Filter Envelope Decay for a stab or pluck sound, good for Arpeggios.
- 550 Kontakt Presets in total.
- Compatible with Kontakt 3 or later.
- Download Size 520MB – Extracted Size 800MB.
This collection also provides basic support for SFZ which many samplers can import as well as providing the raw WAVs.

Kosmos is a scripted front end for Kontakt v3 and above designed to create an easy to use dual oscillator synthesizer. Besides being a front end for the Homegrown Sample libraries, the main goal was to move away from the idea of fixed presets inside Kontakt and to provide a simple method of randomizing new instruments on the fly, whilst providing enough controls to tweak the sounds to taste. This leads to a much more unique preset than using pre-defined presets and is a creatively rewarding way to work as opposed to scrolling through presets. In essence Kosmos is an attempt to import some of the best features of HGS synths into Kontakt.
Also included is a custom built gate sequencer with many play modes and some live triggers for real-time manipulation.
